The Role
Working within the HSQE team to provide HSQE support to the company with key responsibility for HSQE support to the Demolition & Contracting Business

The role incudes the development and delivery of both proactive and reactive strategies, site inspections and programmes to reduce incidents at site and office whilst promoting continual improvement.

The role involves regular interaction with our tender, procurement and operational management teams, client, supply chain and both our on & off site staff to develop safe and healthy working relationships.

Supporting contract delivery and operational teams with project or site specific health, safety, quality and environment issues.

Actively identify areas for improvement and contribute to plans aimed at reducing the occurrence of incidents and promoting continual improvement.

Ensure that operational management and site teams are proactive, up to date and comply with current health, safety and environmental legislation, best practice and Company standards.

Key Responsibilities
Note: The job responsibilities may vary from time to time. As a consequence the job responsibilities will include but may not be limited to any or all of the following:
* Supporting the HSQE Director in delivering HSQE support and strategy to company.
* Provision of HSQE support to Group activities including recycling, waste, aggregate and support functions as required.
* Act as lead HSQE support to the Demolition and Contracting business, including
o Provision of technical and specialist advice, guidance and assurance for the implementation of the Construction, Design and Management regulations as applicable.
o Support the tender, planning, pre commencement and mobilisation stages.
o Support and drive the demolition and contracting management team, risk management process.
o Review of project construction phase plans (CPP), risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
o Attending and supporting management, site and client meetings as required.
o Reviewing construction / demolition activities including pre and post mobilisation to identify continual improvement.
* Reviewing fixed and project specific site procedures and practices as required and reporting to senior management as appropriate.
* Monitoring site compliance with HSQE responsibilities and the business management system.
* Supporting bid submissions, supply chain evaluations and maintenance of industry accreditations.
* Managing an audit schedule, including undertaking audits, inspections and observation visits with findings recorded and advised to management.
* Where appropriate ensuring corrective actions have been completed within designated timescales.
* Assisting in development, implementation and coaching of strategies, campaigns and improvement plans.
* Conducting and supporting incident investigation to identify root cause and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence, including the production of relevant incident reports within designated timescales.
* Collating statistical data and assisting with the production of month end reports in a timely manner.
* Assisting in the management, development and coaching of HSQE colleagues and peers as appropriate.
Skills And Experience
* Relevant construction industry experience (Demolition Contractor and / or Strong Civil Engineering experience desirable) with sound technical knowledge of the CDM Regulations and experience as a principal contractor.
* Waste management or transfer station experience is desirable
* Hold a minimum qualification of NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Diploma or NVQ level 6 desirable) and IOSH membership (with preference for CMIOSH or working towards)
* Preference for
o CSCS Card (CCDO desirable) holder.
o Temporary Works Experience (TWC desirable)
o Lifting Appointed Person (desirable)
o Asbestos removal experience is desirable
* Experience working with management systems 45001, 14001 and 9001.
* Experience conducting incident investigation and reporting.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and engage at all levels.
* Autonomous role, managing your own diary to pre agreed requirements.
* Excellent verbal and written skills.
* PC Literate - with experience of using Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and use of the internet.
