Fashion retailer in Carlisle are seeking an Allocator to join their merchandising team in the Head office. This is an entry level role that would suit a graduate looking for a career in buying and merchandising .

You will be reporting to the departmental Merchandiser the role of allocator is to ensure correct stock levels are within the retail stores/online via an in-house computer system.
You will deal with day to day queries from stores and area management to ensure good relationships are maintained. As a valued member of the team, you will also experience the processes involved in buying and merchandising, having involvement in the range meetings. You will also undertake store visits with the team to gain a better understanding of our retail estate.
This position is ideal for someone who is looking to forge a career in either buying or merchandising within a head office environment.

Responsibilities will include:
* Planning - Creating detailed plans using Excel to accurately map intake and plan stock allocations.
* Allocations/Replenishment - Allocating new products to stores, making.
* confident decisions to optimise the distribution of available stock to enhance sales.
* Participating in weekly meetings with the merchandising team to discuss plans, stock issues and upcoming lines.
* Product Analysis - Taking ownership of specific departments, managing all aspects of allocation and replenishment. Analysing stock using Excel to create and run reports, liaising with merchandisers and taking appropriate action to ensure optimum sales.
* Store Visits - Visiting stores to gain an insight into our customer, store environments and the impact that allocation has on sales. Identifying any improvements that could be made, reporting back to senior members of the team and carrying out appropriate action.
The ideal candidate would:
* Be educated to degree level (but not essential)
* Have excellent computer skills, particularly excel.
* Be a good communicator.
* Have good time management skills.
* Able to work as part of a team.
* Able to work in a fast paced industry.
* Have a passion for retail.
* Have attention to detail.
* Have strong analytical skills.
